In support to the nationwide jobs fair of the national government through the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), the regional office in Caraga Region has hired 242 on-the-spot workers on February 23, 2009. Same was also conducted in the District Engineering Offices from the other provinces in the region. To date, a total of 338 workers were hired on-the-spot by 23 contractors with 138 reserved applicants. (Robert E. Roperos & Gerie Mae G. Coco, PIA-Caraga)

Aside from the Jobs Fair spearheaded by DPWH-Caraga, the Department of Labor and Employment also supported the activity.
