An elder datu of the Mamanwa-Manobo tribe Regional Tribal Council in Northern Mindanao points out an issue with the officials of the DENR Caraga Region presided over by Regional Technical Director Mario Eludo (inset) about their share of Royalty from the Butuan City Water District and other mining companies operating in their ancestral lands. The DENR led by Regional Executive Director Edilberto S. Buiser has made assurance with the tribal leaders of technical assistance to bring their issues to the concerned agencies. The lumads were set to hold a picket-rally in front of the DENR on Thursday but the tribal leaders decided to call the protest action off after the dialogue held at the DENR Regional Conference Hall in Barangay Ambago, Butuan City.
