Amante, Jr. talk about the project of the Butuan City Government dubbed as “Balanghayan Grow a Million Tree” which was officially launched in at least seven barangays in the city during the Araw ng Kagitingan celebration on April 09, 2011. The meeting of the two officials held at the DENR-RED’s Office in Barangay Ambago, Butuan City also discussed about the proliferation of “open pit mining” activities at the watershed areas in which Mayor Amante extended assistance to the DENR to solve illegal mining operations particularly at the Taguibo Watershed area.
