Asst. Action Officer Jair Persigas of the Office of Presidential Adviser for Peace Process (OPAPP)-Social Integration Program (SIP) Caraga orients the unserved former rebels from various municipalities of Agusan del Norte on the programs and projects of the government for their livelihood. He also congratulates the former rebels for having decided to cooperate with the government on its advocacy on peace process, held recently during the Consultation/Dialogue and Awarding of Socio-Economic Assistance to Former Rebels of Agusan del Norte at the Provincial Training Center, Capitol Compound, Butuan City. Col. Emiliano Gupana, Brigade Commander of the Philippine Army 402B encourages the former rebels who receive the 20-thousand pesos each to use the money rightly. PNP Agusan del Norte Provincial Director Benson Dagiw-a Leleng stresses that the communist terrorists’ ideology of what a government should be is not realistic. “It only complicates the peace situation in the country because they insist what they wanted to happen in the government”, Leleng said. LTC Cristobal Zaragoza, 30IB Commander, 4ID of the Philippine Army encourages participants to avail of the livelihood programs and projects of the government. LTC Zaragoza points out that the former rebels who were awarded P20 Thousand pesos each should access the government’s livelihood programs and establish their own business since they can already start a small business out of the fund given to them.
