Agusan del Norte Vice-Gov. Enrico Corvera cites the importance of this month’s celebration for the farmers and fisherfolks and even to the general public. Vice-Gov. Corvera stresses that all people, not only the fisherfolks should take good care of the ocean and all bodies of water since it is one of food sources. He also said that although the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Caraga is doing their best in their advocacy on how to protect and develop these sources, the public must also help them. Newly-installed 2009 Fisherfolk Regional Director Isidro Pamonag cites the roles and responsibilities of a fisherfolk Regional Director. FRD Pamonag also stresses that on his first month of service, he will push thru the advocacy on how to manage and efficiently utilize the ocean and other bodies of water especially in the province of Agusan del Sur and Surigao del Sur. This was held recently in one of the hotels in Butuan City during the opening ceremony of Farmer’s and Fisherfolks’ Month Celebration and its implementation of Fisherfolk Directorship Program.
